Re: [Evolution] Sync Notebook & PC?

Sorry for getting back late...

I've been using Evolution for a while now on a PC. Recently I ordered
a notebook that I will be using when I travel. Was wondering if it
would be possible to "sync" evolution between the two systems when the
laptop is connected to the network. Just about the only time I plan on
using Evolution on the notebook will be while I'm travailing (2-3
months a year).

I've searched briefly on this, but only come up with plam and other
handheald related questions.

Syncing two systems isn't as trivial as it should be, if you need local
mails, contact data and other stuff being synced. However, there was
some large discussion on this topic some months ago. Maybe this might
help you, copied from a previous reply:

Yes, this has been answered. Actually, this topic is quite exhausted.
Please see the archives of November 2003 at

For convenient searching, download the Text version of the entire month
and import it (create a new mail folder in Evolution and drag-n-drop the
downloaded file onto this folder).

Read all threads/mails with subject:
 * Synchronising laptop and desktop evolutions
 * syncronization again
 * Multisync
 * Syncing laptop/desktop email using unison, files to sync?
 * moving - import/export?

Some additional hints:
 * Synchronization btw. several computers

Hope, this answers all your questions. If not, feel free to ask further.
