Re: [Evolution] Compiled and installed; Now more problems getting started

try running bonobo-slay (it'll reboot your wohle desktop if you run the
gnome one) and re-run.

dunno what else. maybe stuff isn't in the bonobo server files path,
note that the bonobo-activation-server is used to run everything else on
a gnome desktop, and it might not have the BONOBO_ACTIVATION_PATH set
right.

I get around this by not running any gnome desktop on my devel platform,
it just causes too many conflicts.

Sorry to have so many questions lately. At the same time, thanks to all
those who have helped. I finally got Evo 1.5 installed (I think,
anyway), but I'm having one more (final?) problem:

The ol' "Cannot access the Ximian Evolution shell." error.
I get the following before that on the CLI: "evolution-shell-Message:
Killing old version of evolution-data-server..."

I found the following on ximian.com's site:
http://support.ximian.com/cgi-bin/ximian.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=54

Referring to their list of possible problems, here's what's happening on
my end:
1. OK, don't have a beta version of Mozilla.

2. As far as $PATH goes: I have one oafd, in /usr/bin. That was from my
RPM of Evo 1.4.5.
I have no evolution-mail or evolution-calendar for either the CVS or the
1.4.5 versions.
My path is currently: echo $PATH
/opt/evolution/bin/:/opt/gnome:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/bin/X11:
/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:/opt/X11R6/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/games:
/usr/bin:/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib/:/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/bin/:
/usr/bin:/usr/local/lib:/usr/lib/:/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/bin/

3. I have no .oaf files for any part of Evolution. I even looked on the
rest of the HD.

4. N/A.

Seems like either 2 or 3 could be the problem. Can anyone offer any
tips?

Thanks.
