Sure -- that's how I understood your warning. You are very right with
that point.

It should be safe to only display non-script date, like images. Active
contents (scripts) should never be interpreted. <comment> HTML does not
belong to mails (ok, we can discuss that ;-), but scripts really don't.

Although even displaying images can be 'risky' with buffer overflows. It
was already mentioned here (sorry, don't remember who that said).


As a matter of interest would someone from Ximian care to list what
types of attachment "auto display" works for.

I second that, would be interesting.
