Well FWIW, Banshee's Replay Gain support is pretty much broken at the
moment. The volume is only scaled for the first song and retains the
same scaling for subsequent songs, even if they have distinctly
different gain levels. The patch in bug 600072[1] seems to fix this problem.

Once fixed, I personally think that Replay Gain is definitely worth
enabling by default in Banshee. It makes things easier when playing
tagged files, and I don't think it has any negative effects when playing
untagged files.
