I may be missing the point since it doesn't look like the whole thread 
is below, but Thunderbird isn't perfect, and it would be good to have 
another accessible GUI email client option. BTW, I have used Evolution 
with IMAP back when it was accessible in Ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04.
