Yes, This behaviour is there you can fix it by making few tweaks suggested here on Orca Ubuntu Karmic page

Compiz keybindings conflict with default Gnome settings. If you want to use Advance desktop setting with 
compiz you can manually change them with keybindings application. This is a known problem which can be 
resolved if the compiz-fusion team pays attention to our needs.
