In followup to my last post where I lost speech and dumped the results
of 'ps',  I several times could find the actual process id of orca,
kill -9 that PID and then go back to the gnome session and restart
Orca.  I seemed to lose speech most frequently this evening with
rythmbox.  It would usually happen when getting out of a dialog.
Sorry I don't have more to go on with here.
