vpn makes nm applet go away ... but works.

I just upgraded to FC6 (partly to get access to the latest/greatest in
terms of vpn and NM). I got NM working fairly smoothly again, although
it still has a tendency to not come back up clean after a suspend (it's
not the only thing -- video has hung several times as well but I'm
assuming all of this is just new-release growing pains).

I just got around to trying (again) to set up a VPN connection to the
campus Cisco VPN server. It uses password authentication. The vpn
connection box was fairly straightforward. I restarted NM after adding
the panel and there was the VPN, available as a choice.

BUT, when I SELECT that choice, the NM applet disappears from the panel.
Bars gone. The wireless network is still up, the connection is even a
VPN (AFAICT -- I can access restricted resources and so on) but the NM
daemon has crashed. If I restart the daemon by hand it seems that the
VPN connection goes down (or at least it isn't marked up in the applet
interface).

So, I'm glad that the VPN thing finally works out of NM, and I'm sad
that it kills NM so that the use of these two pieces is mutually
exclusive. This is functional enough that I'm in no hurry for a fix but
thought I'd report it in case I'm doing something obviously stupidly
wrong.
