Hi; Fernando, Bruno and Luciana expressed their interest in volunteering for membership committee due to vacancies on the committee. Since Izabel received her accounts, we are five people on the committee and I'll leave the committee after new formed committee starts to function well. Please subscribe to membership-committee gnome org mailing list first. There are plenty of information about how committee works on http://live.gnome.org/MembershipCommittee/ and there's Sankarshan's README as well for quick information. (attached) We need some work for running election so faster we arrange a meeting/ more new volunteers can contribute to committee. Some urgent things on top of my mind are: 1) Processing applications before voting period starts 2) Preparing questions for candidates 3) Updating foundation.gnome.org for election news 4) Preparing calendar in .icv format For (1) you will need rt3 and mango access ready, so don't bother with them now. For (2) you need to post news to gnomedesktop.org and even better to slashdot, or a blog post on planet GNOME. And gather the questions from the comments and moreover you can use some umbrella questions from previous years. For (3) you need svn access. You can check previous year's news for the format. And for (4) someone can just prepare the icv file and I can commit it. Some stuff are obsolete but you can get an idea about how elections work from the http://live.gnome.org/MembershipCommittee/ElectionsHowTo address. And yes updating these documentation is a BIG ToDo as well. If you idle on irc, please use #membership channel at irc.gnome.org.
