src/commands.c: hard to translate

Without comments, those contructs are hard to translate (for some
languages perhaps not at all):

#: src/commands.c:1300
msgid "contents"
msgstr "Inhalte"

#: src/commands.c:1302
msgid "formats"
msgstr "Formate"

#: src/commands.c:1304
msgid "comments"
msgstr "Kommentare"

#: src/commands.c:1320
msgid "all"
msgstr "alle"

#: src/commands.c:1327
#, c-format
msgid "Clearing %s in %s"
msgstr "%s in %s leeren"

I don't understand the underlying code completely. Please, give an
example how the strings might expand.
