Re: building gnome-tweak-tool

I figured out how to change my moduleset to gnome-core and was able to build pycairo and pygobject. I could then build gnome-tweak-tool. To run it, I need to be in a jhbuild shell, but that's good enough for what I'm doing.

So if Ubunutu is bailing on gnome3, are there any good debian-based distros that are supporting it and worth switching to? I'm not a big rpm fan, so I'd like to stay away from distros that use that.

Thanks for the tip.

Greetings,

I've successfully been able to build gnome3 libs and gnome-shell with
jhbuild on ubuntu 10.04 (lucid). However, I have been unable to build
gnome-tweak-tool on the same platform. Even if I pass in the path to my
local build dir, it complains about not being able to find the pygobject
dir. Output pasted below. I'm assuming the build environment is
finding my system-wide libs instead of my local build libs, but I've
been unable to force the path so far.

Sounds like you are using the gnome-shell jhbuild moduleset
file/instructions. pygobject etc is in the full GNOME upstream jhbuild
moduleset.

You may build pygobject yourself inside 'jhbuild shell' and this should
work.
