I'm Stormy Peters, executive director of the GNOME Foundation. I'm not a
press expert but I've had "talk to the press" training and written a few
press releases. (I got to write the one saying the GNOME Foundation hired
me. :) I am also not the default leader of this group. If you'd like that
job, feel free to step up. You can pick your title!

I'd like to see us keep the press more informed. Several journalists I
talked to said it's hard to follow what's happening in GNOME unless you are
on a lot of mailing lists and read Planet GNOME every day. One of them
suggested a mailing list that press could subscribe to.

I'd also like to see us track press metrics that matter. Michael Meeks
recently pointed out to me the difference between KDE and GNOME on Google
trends.
