Oh, ok, there is some other means by which the mail gets into the
imap folder.

Try an app like sylpheed or Mozilla, just to test if the mail is
really there.

If so, in Settings->(your imap account)->Edit->"Receiving 
Options", try this:
- un-click "Show only subscribed folders"
- click "Override server-supplied folder namespace"
- leave the Namespace field blank.
