experiments with dynamically changing the favicon

It seems that dynamincally changing the favicon by removing/re-adding
works a bit better than just changing the url. It changes the icon in
the location bar, but unfortunately not in the tab, which is where we
need the change to be visible.

I filed a bug:

Maybe there is some workaround that can trigger the icon to update. I'll
look into it a bit more.
