I fixed this in my Solaris builds by removing the VERSION_SCRIPT_FLAGS from the configure script for Solaris in both the libxml2 and the libxslt builds:

In addition, I modifed the libxml2.syms & libxslt.syms files. (Diff the attachments with the files from the dictribution.)
