Tony,
You don't indicate what toolset you are using (Visual Studio? MinGW?), but in any case, I would suggest
looking at win32\Readme.txt. Unless you're using Cygwin (or something similar), libxml2 compilation on
Windows doesn't work quite the same way as on Unix.

| Hello,
| I am trying to use libxml2 in a Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 8.1
| exvironment.
| I have downloaded "libxml2-2.9.1-win32-x86" and extracted it onto my
| system.
| I have tried using the instructions here:
| C:\libxml2-2.9.1-win32-x86\share\doc\libxml2-2.9.1\html\FAQ.html to get
| started using it.
| I used the command "xml2-config -cflags" on the Windows 7 system
| command
| prompt and it just hangs up with no error or prompt back.
| If I use that command on a Windows 8.1 computer, I get this message:
| I also tried this version on the Windows 8.1 computer:
| "libxml2-2.9.1-win32-x86_64"
| Does anybody know how to use this package in a Windows environment?
| Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
| Thanks,
| Tony
