for runxmlconf.exe it's not such a big deal, but maybe it could be added
to the makefile.
I may try to fix a couple of things that got raised by tsan
http://code.google.com/p/data-race-test/wiki/ThreadSanitizer
but nothing really serious, just small races about global variables
initializations and one on the catalog code (which should be fairly
hard to hit :-)
