[xml] soname

Hi:

I'm working on a system that have installed libxml2, but i need to use another instance of libxml2 that use another extension (libxml2.so only). When i compile, i don't have problem, but the my program is linked against libxml2.so.2. How i can change the soname y mi second installation of libxml2? or how i can tell to my program to use this copy of libxml2. My compiler version is Sun WorkShop 6 update 2 C 5.3 2001/05/15 (runing on SunOS hostname 5.10 Generic_141414-10 sun4u sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise). I don't have administrator access to the machine, and the requisite is that the library may be installed in my home directory and must have the so extension.
