[xml] Query Node Access

Hi!
I'd like to trace the ids (and levels) of the accessed nodes during an
XPath query evaluation. I tried to read and understand the xpath.c but
the more I read the more questions do appear. Can anybody give some
directive hints to get a v_0 speed?
