Thank You, that helped, although I am getting following error:

/tmp/libxml2-2.6.22/.libs/lt-runtest: error while loading shared
libraries: libiconv.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory

I understand that I can run tests using Makefile.tests too.
