Maybe I'm getting the terminology wrong.  So forget about
"direct"...  What I meant is: How can I get the exact
string "Then, shalt thou count to <emphasis>three</emphasis>,
no more, no less." from the node <para role="x">Then, shalt
thou count to <emphasis>three</emphasis>, no more, no
less.</para> without a second "three"?  TIA!
