That's a little harsh. :-) The return value of vsnprintf was changed in
C99 (compared to C89). It's something that really needs to be checked in
snprintf/vsnprintf were first standardized in UNIX98 and later in
C99, which probably explains (a) the lack of these functions on
certain platforms, and (b) their different behavior on older
platforms that do implement them.
