[xml] UTF-8 supported?

Does anybody know if there are any issues with libxml2 and libxslt not supporting UTF-8 encoded XML content? I am working on an application that expects to be handling XML content in a few different foreign languages, English being the default, and I would like to know if I might expect to run into anything.
