I've just installed libxml2-2.6.2 and grepped through 

  Well the example relies on a set of patches which have been
applied after the 2.6.2 release. The simplest is to grab
the CVS version, or maybe wait for 2.6.3, I don't have a clear
timeframe for it, probably within a couple of weeks.
