want to pass japanese characters in pcre_compile

Good day!

I am trying to parse japanese logs using PCRE. When i tried to give japanese characters as input to pcre_compile(); it's failing to compile.

I tried giving unicode of those japanese characters with options as PCRE_UTF8, still it's failing.

Does anybody know how to do this?

Any help would be appreciated.
