A good behaviour in this case would be to let the window that is
transient for a scattered group occupy all the desktops that are occupied
by the group (that is move it to the current desktop if it contains a
window of the group).

Why restrict this ? Why must a group occupy a single desktop ? The user
would expect the window to be in the same group again if he moves the
window back to the old desktop.
