I think you need GLib.File.mount_enclosing_volume https://valadoc.org/g
io-2.0/GLib.File.mount_enclosing_volume.html

Once you've declared a ftp:// resource with GLib.File.new_from_uri, you
can mount it with this routine providen mounting options, etc.
