[Vala] Is Genie Alive?

Hi there
I am currently learning the vala programing lenguague, this is grate, I 
also read about Genie that has python style typing, also  I am 
designing a blueprint app for creating mockups something like pencil 
using genie, I want to know if this lenguague is going to be supported 
in the future?
