Most vala projects that use Cmake as their build system will generate 
the intermediate C code during their build.  So searching for 
repositories that contain both vala files and CMakeLists.txt would 
probably give you a lot of candidates.  As a specific place to start, 
Geary is a fairly large codebase mostly written in Vala:
