[Vala] Current state of threads

Hi,

Currently when you want to create threads you must compile with "--target-glib=2.32" as seen @valadoc.
It also returns warning "assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast" when return type of thread 
function is not pointer.
Will this annoying bug be fixed any time soon?
