[Vala] Linking to GEGL: VAPI works, but no libs and cflags sent to the compiler?

Hello,

My program uses GEGL, for which I have downloaded the VAPI. I'm using SCons
and its ValaProgram function to build it. The problem with this VAPI is
that it seems to forget to add babl and gegl to the C compiler's flags. Is
there any way to fix it *besides* having valac output C files and compiling
them?
