[Vala] Genie maintenance

I posted a bug report to vala bugzilla on 13th march, it still remains
unconfirmed:

I rate it as serious. I sent a personal email to Jamie, but no response.

This has been an ongoing problem. Fortunately Jürg fixed the previous
bug that I reported, but he did comment that it wasn't really his
"thing" to be doing.

Jamie seems to have lost interest, so it raises the question is Genie
going to be supported or not?

Perhaps we need to put out an appeal for someone to maintain Genie?

There is a small but growing group of people coding in Genie, but as
Vala evolves we find Genie code that compiled before now doesn't. It
needs a person familiar with Vala who is prepared to keep an eye on
Genie and make sure it works as Vala is upgraded.
