Iconv
As far as I understand it, Iconv is used to convert from one specified
encoding to another specified encoding, and you need to know which
encoding you're converting from. I'm just looking to get a string
representation of the encoding to convert from (i.e. the file's
encoding: e.g. Shift-JIS, without the programming knowing it's Shift-JIS
first). Does it have some extra functions for that?
