Thanks Ed this binding is very helpful, i'm going to test it.

About the POSIX namespace, I agree with you to be present at the upcoming versions of VALA. I help where necessary. 
 
Regarding SIGNALS, I would like to know how to implement POSIX signals,
especially SIGIO, to be used as delegates. This is necessary for
asynchronous communication of a microcontroller connected to the serial
port.

I will post a simple serial port class for communication with a microcontroller.
