Re: [Usability] Desktop/Nautilus Usability Enhancement Idea: Icon sheets

That seems to be nice.
i was thinking of some how rendering 4 (or more) desktop folders at the same time using different folders for each.
so that they work as different workspaces.
starting with two, each time a user adds a new workspace a new folder (Desktop#) is created and settings saved.
say we add another three more making it a total of 5.

and each time a work space is removed it is only hidden so that it can be bought back with exact settings whenever needed.
it would be even better if you could make a interface for adding, editing, rearranging and deleting workspaces.
Allowing us to edit each workspace to have it's own wallpaper, icons, icon size settings, fonts settings, panels and may be even different icon themes!
advanced features could include separate volume settings, animation settings (with or without compiz) for each.

As good as having multiple systems at the same time :)
am i dreaming a lot?

something like that is what the musiX distro does!
it keeps some icons that on activation they change the desktop icons and the wallpaper  to fit certain kind of work, music, illustrations, etc! it is very nice!

example, i use a cube with four workspaces.
i can then use the workspace 1 for 'work', workspace 2 for 'Media', 3 for 'games', etc.
