[Usability] Gnome format User Interface and Gnome Hig

Hi guys,
I noticed a bug gnome-format http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=574528  about the need to make  HIG compatible and now I'm trying to work on it.
Since this is the first time I work on usability matters in gnome I have some questions for you (for a better understanding of my doubts I attach two glade files containing the gnome-format main window before and after my changes):

1) How to access the about dialog: In the old version of gnome-format there is a button showing the about dialog in the bottom side of the main-window. I don't think this is the good position for it so I replaced that button with a menubar containing the menu "File" and the menu  "Help" with a menu item "About". Otherwise I'm wondering if it is correct to have a menubar only with "File" and "About" considering that the File menu is totally useless. What is the best solution for you? Maybe the answer could be to simply don't show this dialog at all.

2) The progress bar: In the old version of gnome-format over the progress bar there is a text telling that all your files will be lost. I think it is totally useless since there is a confirmation alert box(see belove) that already tell you that all your data will be lost after the format button was clicked.
I introduced some useful text inside the progress bar to explain which device is under formatting and how much time is remaining.
I also think that the progress bar is to be hidden until a formatting process starts.
What do you think about that?

3)About  the button box in the bottom side: I removed the about button (as mentioned above) and changed the position of the other buttons. Is it right?

I also add a primary text in the confirmation alert box telling "Are you sure you want to format the selected device?" and I'm quite confident about the goodness of it.

Thanks for you interest,
Cheers,
Christian
