[Usability] Focus stolen by search box when opening a "Save As" dialog

Hello everyone:

When I open a "Save" or "Save As" dialog, I expect
the focus to be on the file name text box. Instead. when I type a
character, a small text box appears, steals focus, and all my characters are inserted
there.

I suspect that text box is a search box for files that begin with
the characters I've typed. This makes sense in an "Open" dialog, but
not in a "Save" or "Save As" dialog.

This forces the user to use the mouse at best, and at worst, is simply confusing.

How can I help fix this for everyone?
