Some random thoughts about this:
- The dialog seems similar in functionality to the new bookmark dialog we
introduced in Epiphany. Perhaps it would be worth to consider if we want
to be able to tag launchers, and borrow the topic chooser code from
Epiphany?
- The command line should be able to autocomplete. Doesn't the deskbar
applet and/or Beagle make an index of the available executables? Maybe it
could be re-used if it is available.
- The current icon chooser is a usability nightmare (bugs 87719, 128723,
probably others). Do we still actually need it? If we could subclass a
nautilus icon view of the pixmaps folder to communicate the current
selection to the launcher editor, the icon chooser would become redundant.
Also, maybe a "lightbulb tip" could be shown that users can drag pictures
to the icon field.
regards,
