Ubuntu are exploring many different types of distributions and I believe
they are considering some kind of extremely small light distribution so
you may want to get in touch with them.

You might also want to check out Matchbox and the Gnome Palmtop Enviroment
(GPE).  http://gpe.handhelds.org/
