Hi,
In Bug 164090 [1], I have redone the user interface for the "Layout
Options" tab of the gnome-keyboard-properties dialog (screenshot at [2]).
The negative comparison with the old version that's been drawn to my
attention is that it's quite difficult to see which options are active,
because there are so many options.
There are a few possible solutions:
-Forget my super-l33t new version and live with the problems of the old
version (mentioned in the bug [1])
-Automatically expand the expanders that have activated options in them
-Highlight by means of an asterisk or otherwise those expanders that
contain activated options
There are a couple of arguments for not needing a solution
-This problem is preferable to those associated with the old UI anyway
(sorry svu :-) )
-There are no options selected by default. All selected options were made
so by conscious action by the user: they should be able to remember which
they've selected.
I'd appreciate your suggestions and opinions.
John
