I'm sure you're right on those specific toolkit issues... those I take for
granted. I can just assure you that for me, being used to the Workplace
Shell, the win95 UI was a horrible kludge. No consistent context menus on
right clicking objects, unpredictable DnD behaviour, shortcuts that lost
track of their "parent", etc. etc. GNOME is not yet much better in those
respects but I feel it's moving in the right direction.
