In future please try to include a short description of the actual
problems, not only references to the problem.

I have to say (and I'll add this to the bug report later) that I very much
like the robust solution that gedit has implemented and if a file
accidentally gets removed from disk or becomes unavailable you are
prompted on quit to save it.

Other programs (mozilla composer) inform you if a file changes on disk and
prompts you to reload it from disk?
Maybe you would prefer if gedit did that rather than prompting on quit?
