On a normal setup, we have 2 tons of space for the search entry and the
clear button (2 tons amounting to around 300 pixels on my screen). And
certainly, even the search entry isn't useful to people who generally
don't search for particular songs ;)

devhelp's isn't really a search entry like in RB or evo.
