Alt-Left and Alt-Right are actually kind of exceptions to this rule,
though... the HIG actually recommends them for Back and Next in
browser-type apps, for consistency with Mozilla etc. and because
metacity doesn't use those particular ones :) I don't think we'd
particularly encourage their use for anything else, but they're not out
of the question if you're really stuck, either.
