I agree with Pat here. If people are really having trouble "losing"
their windows due to workspace switching, the obvious solution to me is
not to bury the feature. It is one of the nice aspects of *nix desktops
not found (usually) on windows and MacOS. If there is evidence of a real
problem I suspect we can find other ways to cue the user as to what's
going on.
