I think this needs to be pointed out: a 
dictionary/thesaurus/wordnet/encyclopedia isn't the place to look to 
find out what words mean to users.  You need to ask users.

I bet you a million bucks that the literature is not going to tell you 
anything about what real users think about the word "widget" in this 
context.
