The funny thing of these anacdotes is that they always forget to mention
what the color for danger is in that localised situation ;-) If red is safe
& good, then what color represents danger? (White? i remeber chinese
not being big fans on white)
Ps, not to stir up any old flame wars, but out of curiosity, does the gnome2
platform keep track of these things? I distinctly remeber seeing red cancel
buttons, yellow warnings, and green ok buttons in the gnome 2 alpha platform.

standard 'X' button at the top right of the window, but it is now
colored red. This is a very good way to indicate that 1) 'here i am!'
(different color, and very noticable) and 2) this will _close_ the
applications (red = danger).
Note that in China, red==safety, red==good luck.
Which is why so many restaurants and storefronts have red signs.
It's the same in malaysia, "Colour red in Malaysia.Means Good",
a friend told me :-)
