Good idea -  Ctl-tab is often used in Windows to switch between
documents in MDI. I know most Adobe apps honor this and I'm fairly sure
MS Office does as well.

Can anybody think of a good reason for treating tabs differently to
(eg.) multiple docs open in one word instance?
