Re: [Tracker] Crawling-Interval 1

Hi Edward
The tracker-miner-fs process only does a re-crawl on startup. So
although 'crawling-interval = 1' should cause it to recrawl every day,
actually that'll only happen if you restart the process once a day
too.

That behaviour seems a bit confusing to me -- fixing tracker-miner-fs
to honour crawling-interval even if it's not restarted would make
sense; or at least improving the documentation of the
crawling-interval option so that its limitations are clear).

I'm interested why you want it to recrawl every day -- if the notify
hooks are working correctly then it shouldn't really be necessary, as
far as I can see.

Hello,

For the most part, we have netatalk and spotlight working on Centos 6. The
only problem that we are experiencing is the Crawling-interval. We have it
set to 1 for daily crawl but it doesn’t appear to crawl. I’m assuming the
crawling time is the time the spotlight database is created. Ie if the
spotlight database is created at 3am, daily crawling will occur at 3am?

Any log location that would suggest the crawling did not run at a specific
time?

I believe I sent another email to the wrong mailing list.

Kind Regards,

Edward
