[Tracker] Web API

Hi there
Sorry to ask a question that may have been asked n times before.. Just not finding anything.

Is there an API to connect to a machine running tracker? I’m thinking of integrating tracker into our own 
internal searching system and before I start building a node app that does command line queries wondering if 
there is a better way. Was hoping for something like a JSON/REST api :)
